Program Description

The Business and Technology Software Specialist is a two-year program of study.  Students may participate in online or on-ground classes. Students learn about business and software technology, business organization, and management.  Students apply a variety of written and oral communications, social media concepts and applications, and human relations throughout the program. 
 
Students also gain a foundation of web page design, accounting, survey design, and management skills.  Advanced classes continue to develop skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.  Students explore current online technologies and digital devices.
 
This program is designed to prepare students for careers as software support specialists,  business assistants, sales associates for hardware, software, and digital devices, information specialists, business assistants, and administrative assistants.
 

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Effectively use Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook for common business applications.
2. Design business documents applying a variety of desktop publishing strategies.
3. Design usable web pages and websites.
4. Use and apply a variety  of management  and bookkeeping principles.
5. Apply basic business communication skills in a variety of situations both orally and written.
6. Effectively use digital media in business.
