The Computer Forensics/Network Security program is designed to provide students with capabilities in several areas of computing:- Digital evidence recovery
- Forensic laboratory analysis
- Legal and technical issues regarding seizure and acquiring computer evidence, and chain of custody
- Computer network protocols and security, intrusion detection, and network forensics
NOTE: This certificate is not for beginners; please contact the department for more information.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon graduation from the Information Technology / Computer Forensics/Network Security program, graduates will be prepared to:
- Plan, coordinate and implement network, computer/systems technical procedures to retrieve data.
- Answer user inquiries regarding software and hardware operation to retrieve digital information.
- Keep records and prepare reports detailing findings, investigative methods and laboratory techniques.
- Demonstrate professional conduct including responsibility, effective communication and ethical standards.
